After running a bed and breakfast in Door County for eight years, I (Sara) felt inspired to create a more laid-back kind of getaway—with two cozy vacation rentals in Baileys Harbor and Sturgeon Bay.
Door County has truly stolen my heart. There’s something about the water, the boats, the beaches, and the small-town charm that makes this place feel like magic to me. My cozy rentals are my way of staying connected to what I love most: welcoming guests, sharing this magical place, and offering atmospheric spaces that feel like home. I love sharing my favorite hiking trails, restaurants, live music spots, shops, and hidden gems—and nothing brings me more joy than helping guests discover them. Door County is where my roots run deepest. After years in Colorado with Vail Resorts, I returned to the Midwest, drawn by family and the beauty of a place where forests meet freshwater. I spent several years running a historic bed and breakfast in Sister Bay, where hosting became more than a job—it was a way to connect, welcome, and create lasting memories.
Now, through Shorebird Hospitality Co., I’m crafting cozy, thoughtful getaways in Baileys Harbor and Sturgeon Bay, each designed to feel like coming home.
